Building MSF OCB environmental roadmap
Reduce the energy consumption of buildings
📍Redefine temperature standards in offices, guesthouses, medical facilities and pharmacies and restrict cooling inside pharmacies only to items needing it.
📍Improve energy performance of the buildings through sustainable design, passive measures, including insulation and low carbon emissions materials, tree plantations and preservation of natural spaces.
📍When already implemented passive measures are not sufficient enough, implement low consumption active measures where applicable (alternative to AC: Air cooler, fans,...).

Permit differentiated temperature both in space (some people/items prefer less hot or less cold) , and time (depending on presence).
It is awesome to have what we prefer, indeed - and it is really cool to have a choice. However, we need to remember that while in the field, we are on a mission - and we are not likely to have the comfort of home there. therefore, we should observe rather the local standards, than the personal preferences. Now, in the HQ - it would be rather hard to personalize the AC...
when you design a temperature controlled warehouse you can ask yourself: do all the items need a controlled temperature <25C? or just some of them? it is possible to make a partition in the warehouse with insulation material you you have the controlled temperature in just that defined space, not necessarily the whole warehouse
The OCB Construction Manifesto https://sherlog.msf.org/articles/7573/sustainable-design-and-construction.html proposes some ideas to improve energy consumption in urban, rural and emergency contexts.
Some other ideas, or suggestions?
