Reduce overuse & abuse of chemical products in MSF facilities

Many daily chemical products used in MSF facilities & guesthouses are not necessary IPC wise to maintain proper hygiene. They are often misused, their consumption can be exagerated (cleaning products, air sanitizers, toilet products etc...). Simple protocols could be created across the organization to limit their use, explain their impact and promote alternative locally available products & practices not endangering the environment (water resource, air environment, waste generated).

Yes indeed- I've heard this reflection from several different staff in different OCB locations. As part of the MSF Ixelles office Eco-Dynamic Certification Process (see more info here https://www.ecodyn.brussels/newsleed/dans-les-coulisses-interview-de-medecins-sans-frontieres/ ) - one issue we addressed was exactly this - rational use of eco-friendly cleaning products

We can use Fully-Synthetic Engine Oil for MSF vehicles and Generators, will increase the service interval up to 10000 km and 1000 hours. Till now we are using Conventional Engine Oil and doing the services of vehicles at 4000/5000 km interval and services of generators at 200/300 hours interval and producing much more used engine oil which can be reduced up to 50 % by using Fully-Synthetic Engine Oil.
