As Section Pharmacist this is a battle we have been fighting for ages. The Medical Standard List project will support medical teams on the filed to improve those aspects. This is a field medical friendly tool. Contact Marjolein De Bruycker to know more.
totally agree orders are often based on who is there during the international order , resulting to tons of sleeping stock , so long as items are in the catalogue projects just order
part of the problem also is as technology is advancing every project wants to have the new item on the list even when the old item is still functioning well , problem also there is often no consideration that some of these sophisticated materials or machines cannot be sustainable in all context , but it ordered , then it breaks down in few months or activities change and it is abandoned

Any idea of the over-prescription rate in MSF projects?
i do not have figures for it , however , following the irrational and over prescribing , one example is the rate of antibiotic resistance issues across projects , this is because antibiotics is misused , same applies to many other drugs prescribed on the ward and not used ,
