MSF - OCB's Global Environmental Footprint Initiative
Building MSF OCB environmental roadmap
Optimize car fleet size, composition and movements
In order to reduce mileage and fuel consumption we can:
📍Optimise vehicles usage in the missions where context and security allows it (ex: Only take one car to pick up several international-mobile staff at the airport).
📍Train drivers on eco-driving.
📍Purchase the lowest emission vehicules adapted to the need (driving in town is different than in the field so the car model can change according to its use).

We can buy and use hybrid or EFI (OBD-2) equipped vehicles in MSF missions and projects as these vehicles are Environmental Friendly and Financially Benefits due to lower fuel consumption.
We can also buy and use low emission (EFI) equipped generators for MSF energy zone setups, will cause positive impact on Environment.
It can be worth considering using electric cargo bikes when logistics (e.g. locations with different projects in a 10-20km radius, non-refrigerated items), safety (e.g. no conflict zone, proper infrastructure) and environment conditions (I wouldn't ride them in mid summer Madrid, for instance) allow. It can help reducing costs (cheaper procurement, less fuel, maintenance, etc.), carbon footprint (no use of fuel) and improve delivery times and cost for small to medium size parcels overall.
