📍Consolidate a responsible travel policy addressing topics like field visits from HQ, briefings / debriefings, R&R, and promoting online international meetings within the movement and for HQ
📍Review trainings location choices and delivery modes (on-line vs in-person)
📍Develop tools and levers to facilitate employees to make climate friendly decisions regarding choice of companies and itineraries (ex: direct flights, train alternatives)

Good to see the recently published MSF OCB 'Travel Less, Travel Consciously Policy Nov 2021' that goes in this line, but how to reduce people (business) travel of Internationally Mobile Staff to/from country of residence - place of work?

Given the urgency of climate action, I think it would be a good idea to make this excellent initiative stricter. For example, no intra-European flights of ≤ 3 hours duration, unless for exceptional reasons. This should be extended to other areas too, where logistically possible.
Yes! Already in the policy and International Mobility Unit is working on it!

In some missions we can take Leaves in the country of the mission, but there is no financial support for this, but there is financial support for a flight ticket. Maybe If we could reimburse the same amount we do for the flights for leave in the country we could reduce the number of flights.
Good idea Leonardo - this tactic of financial subsidies for eco-responsible travel choices works well for Brussels staff Home-Work-Home travel and could also be applied for work-holiday-work travel in the field :)
