Fortunately, the reason prevails - in a country like Belgium (or Switzerland, or France, or Netherlands, etc.) - the availability and quality of the public transport is such, that using personal mens has no reasonable basis (except a bicycle perhaps :-) - or skate-rollers). Frankly, I never noticed any excess in this field - neither in Brussels, not in Geneva, not even in Athens - so while I am quite eager to endorse the proposition, i do not see too much field for improvement really...

Hi Kristof! I completely agree, as it is formulated here, it seems that the proposal is more targeted to HQ or coordination offices in a few countries. But what about proposals such as better movement planning; limiting the use of exclusive vehicles (to a person or an activity), or movement sharing with other sections when possible?

Yes, Maria - here we touch a sensitive spot.
Actually, based on my relatively short MSF experience (I've been around for past 11 years only) - I am observing a twist - or is it a drift, a leeway - of what we, MSF-nation are.
Yes, this is on the subject - just bear it with me for a moment.
A pattern of behavior of an MSF worker shifted smoothly from ideological to professional. it shifted however with all the consequences. Therefore, to cut the long story short - and I'm sure you would agree on the principle - a young and ambitious professional making a quick career in MSF ranks, comes to a conclusion that he/she is entitled also to a package of benefits, following his/her performance and position. Why not, indeed? These still are humble, in comparison to the benefits coming from a career in the corporate world. Besides, we (MSF) confess with less and less shame that since the corporate world works fine - then we should endorse some patterns. Now, how you would deal with this?

So, to continue - and this goes for our habits back at home too - in order to reduce our carbon footprint, we need to reduce our selfish concept of what we are entitled to. Changing the way we look at the world we live in. This is by far harder than changing diesel to solar or by doing mainly online meetings. Or than buying only products in recycled package. Or by plugging-off our phone or pc chargers when not used. This is gonna cost us tons of auto-criticism. Can we really afford it?
Forgive me for my skepticism...
