Fully agree!
For insulation of buildings, savings in terms of CO2 emissions should be balanced with CO2 required for material production (so called grey/embedded energy) to avoid "false savings".
Agree, though it depends. If the energy for the AC is produced from the generators, it is very likely that the CO2 footprint from the insulation material will be less than the burnt extra fuel related to no insulation. And if you replace the generators by photovoltaic panels, you may need to install less production power in the end, so more savings. Agree that it is all not white or black.
