Include Socio-environmental criteria when choosing suppliers
The goods & services we buy are the main source of carbon emission of MSF, therefore including environmental criteria to evaluate suppliers and the goods & services they propose is definitely something to investigate !

sure, but we have to be realistic: logs are already overwhelmed with the number of things they have to do. If they have to add extensive supplier selection processes, we will need more log staff in the field (and maybe in cells / HQ)
in order to avoid being overwhelmed, it is important to concentrate to the 5 to 10 items in NFI, and in Medical orders that constitute 80 to 90% of the purchased items footprint.
In the title, you wrote also the social part. Of course it will take time and ressources, but we should work on this, include both social and environmental criteria. Work on this, and assess the challenges can be a very good first step.
This can be an interesting document to be be consulted, cited by the ICRC as a reference document for meeting donors' environmental and social requirements: World Bank Environmental and Social Standards (especially, ESS 1. Assessment and Management of Environmental and Social Risks and Impacts, ESS 3. Resource Efficiency and Pollution Prevention and Management, ESS 4. Community Health and Safety and ESS 6. Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management of Living Natural Resources).https://www.worldbank.org/en/projects-operations/environmental-and-social-framework/brief/environmental-and-social-standards
