Inter-OC rationalization of cars use

Avatar: Alex Alex

In some capital cities such as Bangui, you see a huge MSF cars every 5 minutes in the streets, each of them with one or two expats in it. There's certainly room for rationalization (on top of the everyday rationalization that good-willing expats already try to do by themselves). This means having the same security rules, radio procedures, common HR (radio-op), etc. Not easy but certainly worth it at the end of the day.

Hi Alex, you are right. It is necessary to identify travel needs in advance ; share the vehicules as much as possible, adapt the vehicle fleet to the needs and have better planification. In addition to these practices, logisticians should establish a renewal schedule and optimise the maintenance of the fleet to avoid important carbon emissions.
